My First Artist's Journal

Hello friends!  Today I had some fun playing around with images from
Karen the Graphics Fairy and a set of Americana images from
Gecko Galz.  I just love using digital images to create my own art.
So...here is the book, my youngest son found it out in our yard last summer. Free is great!
You can see my son started a little art work of his own :-)
I started out with a set of images that
Lee Anne Seed (Gecko Galz) has up on her blog for free!  They are swimsuit beauties.  So if you love the Graphic Fairy please check out Lee Anne's Blog.
(You can see all the original images I used on the Gecko Galz website).
Here are the digital images I created using a background paper and swimsuit gals from Gecko Galz.
This one states:  "The original american beauty."
The one below states:
"Spread your wings and let your creativity Soar!"
Here is my finished altered journal cover...which I am entering in
The Challenge is to create a piece of altered art.
All the flower images and the U.S. Mail image are all images I have altered from the Graphics Fairy.
Here are some close ups....
If you have a chance...I am trying out for the DT at Gecko Gals...and would love it if you left a comment there saying I was your Favorite...LOL... You could win a $50 certificate for the Gecko Galz store!  Just follow this link
Here is another close up...
A little info...
I used matt decoupage to apply all my images to my book.  I distressed the image edges and inked with Ranger's Vintage Photo.  I used stazon black ink and the stamps I made to do some stamping. I added some red glass beads, and antique button as well as antique brass pearls.  Used my Crop O Dile to punch some hole..and added some grommets.  I left the front of the cover the color it was, because I loved it.  I painted the binding...red then blue..with a crackle glaze.
So...if you would like to learn how to alter images...or make your own..please come and join one of my new groups
Have an awesome Evening!
